Description: Classroom silence: roadblock or opportunity? Is silence a sign of pedagogical ineffectiveness? Or can silence be deployed strategically to support specific learning outcomes? In this colloquium, participants will engage in an open conversation about teaching with our mouths shut, with particular focus on what goes on during the silences in our classrooms, in the creases, so to speak, between our conscious pedagogical frames and acts.
