Patti Kelly Harrison


The Center for Instructional Development and Educational Research (CIDER) recognizes Patti Kelly Harrison, instructor of Psychology, for her unwavering commitment to teaching excellence.

Dr. Kelly Harrison teaches coursework in Psychopharmacology, Neuroscience/Nervous Systems and Behavior, Psychology of Aging, Research Methodology, and Psychophysiology. She has consistently received the highest possible teacher ratings (4.0/4.0)by her students. She has received these exceptional ratings even in her newer course preparations. Her students ratings attest to her knowledge of the material, commitment to teaching excellence, and concern for the knowledge conveyed through her lectures and student contacts outside of the classroom.

Dr. Kelly Harrison has recieved previous awards, while at the University of Georgia for Teaching Excellence and Research Excellence. In addition to the previous teaching and research awards at the University of Georgia from the Psychology Department, she received the highest teacher ratings at the University of Florida for her teaching of Computer Science coursework.

More recently and while at Virginia Tech, she received the Excellence in Access and Inclusion Award for her efforts with students having special needs.
