Past Winners of the Teacher of the Week

Mike Rosenzweig

The Center for Instructional Development and Educational Research (CIDER) recognizes Mike Rosenzweig, advanced instructor of Biological Sciences, for his ability to challenge students and focus on practical application.

Dr. Rosenzweig teaches the introductory biology courses (BIOL 1105 and 1106). In teaching these courses, he works to excite students and push them to push themselves in the process. In addition to challenging students to learn as much as possible in his class, he also acknowledges students' needs outside of the classroom by encouraging students to remain healthy and positive.

A 2007 recipient of the College of Science Award for Outreach Excellence, Dr. Rosenzweig's contribution to students' learning both inside and outside the university setting elicits much positive feedback from his students:

"I wanted to thank you for the help with the study techniques. My grade improved on the final and I felt much less stressed when taking it. I also wanted to say that I loved taking your class. You made it very interesting."

"This year has been absolutely incredible and intriguing. I really enjoyed your class and I learned a lot of material that is applicable to life, especially the section about health and nutrition."

"I just wanted to say thank you again for a wonderful semester. I can walk away from this course really feeling proud of the knowledge that I gained as a result of the hard work I put into studying."
